In the next 2 years, we will be adding male and female dogs to our program. We are looking for placements for the following breeds: Miniature Poodle, Mini and Medium Goldendoodles, Micro, Mini and Medium Bernedoodles. If you have a preference of breed, please specify in your application.
What is a guardian home?
Our guardian program is where we place puppies who are breeding prospect dogs. We retain the breeding rights on that specific dog for a specified number of years or litters. This is not for people who are interested in breeding dogs, but a program for those who want to support our program and receiving a very high quality puppy without the high cost.
We require a small deposit, which we put back into the puppy/dogs health testing. If the puppy/dog does not pass health testing when they come of age, we spay/neuter them, and transfer ownership to the guardian family.
What are guardian homes responsible for?
Guardian homes are responsible for all “regular” pet parent costs including but not limited to: grooming, food, routine veterinary care and vaccinations, bedding, toys etc. Penny and The Pups is responsible for all breeding related expenses and/or breeding related veterinary costs including but not limited to: progesterone tests, semen evaluation, genetic testing etc.
Guardian homes are responsible for regular grooming (every 6-8 weeks), general health and well-being, training, and providing Breeder’s choice food. Guardian homes must keep dogs in good physical and mental condition. Female guardian dog owners must notify us at the onset of a heat cycle. We need to have monthly updates on our guardian dogs and we keep in touch with our guardian homes. If you are planning on going out of town, please notify us as early as possible so we can make arrangements, in case we have breeding plans for that guardian dog.
