We start at 3 days old with ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation), and ESI (Early Scent Introduction). At 16 days old, we begin the Badass Breeder Curriculum which take us all the way through 8 weeks old and beyond. When puppies are 7 weeks old, we do temperament testing. The temperament testing (Puppy Evaluations) cover the following 12 traits: Assertiveness, Confidence, Motivation Level, Nerve Strength/Resiliency, Touch Tolerance, Energy Level, Sound Sensitivity, Sight Sensitivity, Prey Drive, Human Focus, Tenderheartedness, and Dog Friendliness.
Jeanette Forrey from 4E Kennels created the Badass Breeder Curriculum and these temperament tests so that breeders like me can honor our puppies and each placement. By following the Badass Breeder Curriculum and doing evaluations, we can effectively guide our families through the process of choosing a puppy, and place therapy dogs!
